Vertical Wall Decal Installation Instructions Step 1Clean the surface. Ensure that the surface is dry and free from any dust or dirt.
Step 2Attach the decal to the wall by applying a single strip of masking tape horizontally to the top of the decal (the strip should cover both the sticker and the surface). This strip will be used as a support to keep the decal in place during the application process.
Step 3Pull the bottom of the decal away from the wall, and remove the backing (starting at the top) to reveal the sticky side of the vinyl. CAUTION: do not let the exposed decal touch the wall – the back of it is very sticky. If the decal is not properly aligned on the wall, it can be difficult to reposition it without causing damage to the vinyl.
Step 4While holding the decal away from the wall surface, use a squeegee (a credit card is fine) to attach the decal to the surface. Begin at the top. Make sure to work from the centre of the decal outward, using firm strokes with the squeegee to force the air out from under the decal. Note: Make sure to work from top to bottom. Do not allow the entire decal to touch the wall. If lines or creases develop, gently lift and reposition the decal.
Step 5To reveal the final product, gently pull off the transfer tape from the decal at a 180° angle. If the decal peels off, reattach it with the squeegee.
Horizontal Wall Decal Installation Instructions Step 1Clean the surface. Ensure that the surface is dry and free from any dust or dirt.
Step 2To ensure that the decal is properly positioned, attach it to the wall using small pieces of masking tape.
Step 3Apply one strip of masking tape vertically at the center of the decal. This strip will be used as a support to keep the decal in place during the application process.
Step 4Pull one side of the decal away from the wall, and remove the backing to reveal the sticky side of the vinyl. With scissors, cut the backing near the centre of the decal. CAUTION: do not let the exposed decal touch the wall – the back of it is very sticky. If the decal is not properly aligned on the wall, it can be difficult to reposition it without causing damage to the vinyl.
Step 5While holding the decal away from the wall surface, use a squeegee (a credit card is fine) to attach the decal to the surface. Begin at the centre. Make sure to work from top to bottom, and from the inside of the decal outward. Use firm strokes with the squeegee to force the air out from under the decal.
Step 6Remove the remaining backing and repeat steps 4 and 5. Note: make sure to work from the centre of the decal outward. Do not allow the entire decal to touch the wall. If lines or creases develop, gently lift and reposition the decal.
Step 7To reveal the final product, gently pull off the transfer tape from the decal at a 180° angle. If the decal peels off, reattach it with the scraping tool.
